How Does the programme work?

Our account management plans are tailored to your individual needs and requirements and can be set up as soon as we are in receipt of your signed authority form.

Once we have your signed authority we will then write to each and every one of your creditors requesting an up to date balance on all of your outstanding accounts.

Once the full balance pursuit has been completed and we know how much is owed on your accounts we will then prepare a full personal financial statement. The financial statement is based solely on your monthly income and expenditures and will leave you with what is known as a disposable income. This is how much money you will be left with at the end of each month to make your minimum payments on your accounts.

Each of your creditors will receive this statement as well as a copy being forwarded to you.  With your disposable income particulars we will then calculate pro-rata payments which will be distributed to your creditors each month on a date that is convenient to yourself.

Our aim is to get our proposals accepted for a period of at least 3-12 months and at the same time making all efforts to get any interest and late charges frozen. Ultimately you would start to see the balances coming down rather than them staying the same or even increasing with any late payments.

Our proficient and polite administration staff will now deal with your accounts on your behalf thus taking away the stress and pressure of you having to speak to the creditors yourself. If the creditors contact you by telephone, all you need to do is give them Thornton Shepherd Associates phone number.  At the same time, any letters from your creditors can be forwarded to us using the pre-paid envelopes that we provide free of charge.

After three months a full file review will then take place to see if your circumstances have changed for the better, as you may be able to increase your monthly payments and therefore reduce your time on the account management plan. Even though your payments will have increased the management fee will always stay at £30.00 per month for the course of the plan.
